The Duxford Radio Society
The radio section consists of a dedicated band of volunteers who
operate their own radio station GB2IWM from building 177 at Duxford.
They summarise their major main functions as

RADIO |
Communicate with other amateur radio stations world-wide by using
speech (R/T) or Morse code (W/T). |
|
RESTORATION |
Restore to full working condition historic military equipment donated
to the Duxford Radio Society. |
|
RESEARCH |
Research historic military, radar and navigation equipment for
publication in the newsletter and national magazines. |
|
RECRUITMENT |
Expand DAS/DRS membership, either as a DAS volunteer on-site or a DRS
corresponding member - world-wide. Open to all radio amateurs or
those with an interest in wartime radio and/or electronics. |
The section operate out of two buildings on the IWM Duxford site,
they have recently had a 60ft radio antenna tower installed and this
has increased the clarity and range of their regular Sunday
communication sessions.
The Radio Society occupy buildings 177 and 178, adjacent to the
American Air Museum and are open Saturday and Sunday and most
Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Other times are by prior arrangement by

Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire, CB2 4QR. Membership enquiries
should also be directed to this address, their radio call sign is
